About Library

SIMS Library is spread over 411 sq mt with the seating capacity of 96 persons. Library is divided in three areas i.e stack area, reading room and discussion area. Open carrels are provided in stack area and reading hall for individual study. Library has comprehensive collection in management and its related subjects. The Library is open to students, faculties of organization, researcher and other individual users.

The library has subscribed to E-resources such as Prowess, EIS and EBSCO etc. to access information in support to students, teaching and research and to enhance scholarly communication.

General Rules

  • While entering the library users should keep their personal belongings like textbooks, issued books, personal copies, magazines, newspaper, laptop bags etc. on the bag racks. Users can carry their laptops in reading areas. Users are responsible for all personal possessions including wallets, mobiles etc.

  • Always carry your identity card when you visit library, failing so may forbid from entering the library.

  • Use of mobile inside the library is prohibited.

  • Books and other materials taken for reference should not be re-shelved. The readers should leave the material on the table. Remember that book misplace is book lost.

  • Readers should not mark / tear/misuse/damage the reading material/library property. If found so he/she will be charge for replace/pay full value for the loss and may lead to debar from library.

  • The Librarian has the power to cancel the membership or refuse the entry/admission of any member who violate the rules and regulations of the Library or involve in any kind of misconduct.

Fee Structure

The student, staff, faculty and research scholar of Symbiosis International University are member of SIMS Library. SIMS alumnus and visiting faculty can apply to the Director, SIMS for paid membership. Temporary membership is available for outsiders interested in referring SIMS Library at the approval of the director. The exceptional outside member (temporary membership) will be eligible for availing library services as recommended by the Director.

Reading Hall Membership

is a temporary membership for individuals, other than Symbiosis International University, interested in using Library reading hall only. The membership is valid for 3 months only. Member interested in continuing shall apply again. Members shall carry their own material for study. These members are not eligible for borrowing facility.

Case base Membership

is a temporary membership. The fees may vary according to requested usage of Library services and as recommended by the Director.

  • Members should adhere to the dress code of the institute.

  • Reading Hall Members should carry their own material for study.

  • Library will terminate the member in case of misbehavior / violation of rules.

  • Books which are labelled / stamped as reference books are not for borrowing.

  • Library is authorized to declare/hold certain books as reference material according to the demand. The book may not be labelled as Reference material.

  • Old loose issue of magazines only can be borrowed. New/Latest issues and back volumes are for reference only.

  • Borrowing period for particular material can shrink according to the demand.

  • Centre for Corporate Governance of the National Foundation of Corporate Governance.

  • Number of books issued under book bank system may vary from semester to semester.
