"Be open to learning from your colleagues rather than playing the role of sole problem solver", I belive the same and experiencing the same here.
The way of learning and real life application of the modules; with first-class professors, the ability to learn and explore new environments, networking across cultures, and of course, proving to myself I can do this. Not only I am growing as a person, but I heightened self-awareness, self-esteem, and abilities in leadership. The faculty is able to impart knowledge with a balanced view of what is really seen at the corporate level.
It automatically elevates the level of classroom discussions and case study analysis. Candidates would have already handled several live situations and would be in a great position to understand the course of action, as against the fresher who may not be able to imagine the same.

  • Q 1. When have you joined Paranjape ?
Ans: I joined Paranjape Schemes Construction Ltd. (PSCL) in Jan 2019 as Township Manager for Blue Ridge Township, Hinjewadi, Pune. Earlier, I used to practice as litigation Lawyer in Mumbai High Court. After moving to Pune, I started working as consultant for different corporate clients. For better career growth and experience, few years back, I decided to take up a corporate full-time job in administration/operations with Paranjape Schemes limited (PSCL) as Township Manager.
  • Q 2. Your achievements in Paranjape ?
Ans: As I had a change in career, I started as Manager, the lowest level in management tier. With my dedication and effort, I managed to get the township affairs in control. My immediate focus was collection, vendor management, resource and process optimization along with cash flow management. My legal background helped immensely in managing various Township affairs. I was also involved in other legal matters and went to Mantralaya with senior advocates to represent critical matters. With my dedication and results, I was soon asked to manage another Township, Forest Trails, Bhugaon. And soon within a span of 1 year, I was given 4 level promotion and made General Manager of Townships. Now, I work as HOD and look after multiple townships. Further, because of my consistent results and ability to take any work assigned to me to closure, I am now a “Go Getter” in the organisation. Any work that needs special attention even though it may not be directly my responsibility comes to me and am asked to take care of it.

  • Q 3. How you keep updated yourself ?
Ans: Knowledge is power and we all need it to be good at what we do or to be just a better person, a better version of us on an ongoing basis. I mainly focus on personal growth (soft skills), technical updates on technology that is being used in construction and maintenance of Townships, market trends, government compliances and so on. Good knowledge is gathered from multiple sources, so I discuss matters with my social & professional network, follow news aggregators apps, LinkedIn etc, buy relevant books, my family and my extended family of EMBA members & teachers.
  • Q 4: Your learnings out of MBA (Executive) ?
How different subjects in this study helped you in your professional growth ? Ans: Enrolling into EMBA program was a perfect decision which has helped me flourish in my current role. Understanding the financial aspects of my company is the biggest advantage. The basic concepts and clarity have made me more confident. The executive MBA course is perfectly designed and all the subjects throughout different semesters took us deep in the different concepts of business environment, culture, strategies, branding, sales, learning, motivation, training, communication and helped us understand importance of CEM-measuring tools and how customer complaint-iceberg is important.
  • Q 5. Your message for the working professionals ?
Ans: Give your best. Love what you do and do what you love. Know yourself better, understand your own strengths & weaknesses. We all are not same. Don’t compare yourself with others. Understand what motivates you, what you would like to do. Set your goals and put in a plan to achieve the same. Nothing is impossible when you are determined. Learn to work on your strengths and take efforts to convert your weakness into your strengths. Mostly, we want quick results and thus either get frustrated easily or don’t even try. But slow and steady surely wins the race. Try to be a better version of you every day.
Also an idea and knowledge is always as good as its implementation. Put in focused efforts and learn from everything and everyone. And do not hesitate to share knowledge as sharing will multiply it for all involved. Be the best you !

  • :- An Impressive Journey from 'Job Seeker to Job Creator' -:
  • 15th October 2021 is a very special day in my entire professional career that our own MBA (Executive) alumni have successfully expanded their business activities to a greater height in presence of many MDs, CEOs, and others.
  • I remember how these “so called” young students had quest for knowledge during their study and how they used to be after their domain expert faculty members to understand the nitty-gritty of the business and get the answers for each and every queries raised in their minds.
  • Sacrificing the hefty salaried job in MNCs and starting their entrepreneurial journey with initial capital of Rs 2 lakhs individually just 2.5 years back and now Afy Technologies turnover is 20 crores, not a joke but it's a reality, a splendid performance.
  • Heartiest Congratulations
to all the partners - Mr Pravin Oswal, Mr Sudhir Kalkar, Mr Ganesh Jamdar, and Mr Ravi Parab and best wishes
  • on your Grand Opening Ceremony! May your business prosper in the years to come !

  • Team Chemistry Is More Important Than Size That Leads to Business Growth - A Unique Entrepreneurial Success Story of Two Alumni of MBA (Executive) 2016-18 Batch **
  • A talented team with chemistry and drive can overcome almost any obstacle to find success. A passionate, driven team can outperform a team 40 times its size that is not passionate about its work. Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.
  • Afy Technologies LLP was started in May 2019 by FOUR senior professionals who are stalwarts and have individual domain expertise in operations, marketing, automation, and fabrication. While doing MBA (Executive) offered by SIMS, Khadki Campus, Pune and working with reputed companies at senior level, Mr Pravin Oswal and Mr Sudhir Kalkar were looking for an opportunity to implement their acquired knowledge in a true sense. While studying, an idea of starting their own venture was growing in their minds and the situation was also becoming favorable in due course of time after getting management lessons in the classroom by expert faculty members.
  • Initially the company started with technical consultancy to pharmaceutical companies and allied industries like equipment manufacturers. Slowly it moved to automation and upgradation of process equipment as per regulatory requirement, safety upgrades, and efficacy enhancements. Now Afy is a pioneer in these fields.
  • This startup has a unique combination of experience for pharmaceutical equipment manufacturing as well as pharmaceutical process know how. It has a team of more than 100 years of combined experience of Directors. It helped to understand customer requirements and support their needs through knowledge and good engineering solutions.
  • This startup has a unique combination of experience for pharmaceutical equipment manufacturing as well as pharmaceutical process know how. It has a team of more than 100 years of combined experience of Directors. It helped to understand customer requirements and support their needs through knowledge and good engineering solutions.
  • Each partner contributed Rs 2 lacs as the initial investment to start this start up. Company has a registered office at Narayan Peth and the manufacturing unit in Khed Shivapur. This young start up began its operations with 6 employees including partners in 2019 and currently employing more than 22 people and that too engineers.
  • During the worst pandemic that spread over 18 months, the company went through a lot of difficulties such as increased operational cost and availability of skilled people, lockdown and travelling restrictions impacted delivery schedule and installation plans. Being a small venture, it gave special incentives to engineers to keep the business moving. Company not only provided covid medical coverage to all employees but also vaccinated all people bearing the entire cost WITHOUT salary cut during this trying time. Hats off to them.
  • Afy is currently working with many large pharmaceutical companies like Cipla, Sun, Zydus, Abbott, Unichem, Indoco, and Markson. They have clients not only in India but in the USA, South Africa, Vietnam, Malaysia, Bangladesh etc.
  • With more than 25 Crore orders in hand now, the company's revenue is more than 15 Crore for the financial year 2021-22 though it is yet to get over. Professionally managed company's ambition is to achieve a 50 Crore milestone in next 2 years and it's manufacturing unit is moving to new premises next month due to expansion. The new premise is much more spacious with the state of the art amenities.
  • Doing our own business is not only challenging but rewarding too. This technology start-up is happy to contribute to nation building through charity.
  • These alumni entrepreneurs are thankful to SIMS for not only imparting advanced knowledge for the business start up but actively supporting, appreciating, and motivating them to do their best.
SIMS wishes them best luck for their glory.

  • A Birth of Manufacturing Start-up Without Financial Muscle - A Business Success Story of Mr Jayesh Patil, an MBA (Executive) 2019-21 Batch Alumnus **
  • There are multiple issues and challenges which affect manufacturers in every industry such as shortage of skilled workers, consumerism trends, cash flow, initial capital, scaling of business, regular maintenance, and availability of land. This becomes a hindrance in running the manufacturing start-ups in India.
  • After getting hard core experience of 10 years in Cipla Ltd, Tata Battery, and John Deer, Mr Jayesh Patil decided to become a job creator for the society starting a small manufacturing unit in the year 2010 in a 10x10 square feet room with 2 employees and that also one retired person and other fresh pass-out engineer.
  • Initially, Mr Jayesh started the manufacturing of electrical switchboards and automation panels under “Sanika System & Services” and within a few months, L&T Ltd made this start up a channel partner for their automation project when the company realized that Sanika’s product and service exceeded the standard. Managing quality is crucial for small businesses.
  • Sarvadnya Electrotech Pvt Ltd (erstwhile Sanika Systems & Services) is in electrical panel manufacturing, process automation, and electrical turkey project. The company has been doing turnkey projects in various segment like sugar, distillery, powerplant, chemical, and pharmaceutical.
  • Good experience in project but due to lack of marketing knowledge, Mr Jayesh faced challenges during initial days. He worked as one-man army for the company which included sending quotation, material purchase, design, and vendor follow ups resulted in long hours working.
  • It is the hard work, passion, and constant and consistent improvement that resulted in Rs 16 Crores revenue generation last year. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard and this financial year 21-22 the company will achieve Rs 25 Crores business, a confident entrepreneur said.
  • Imagine Mr Patil started the entrepreneurial journey with initial capital of Rs 50,000/-. He got the initial small orders with advance payment terms which helped the business managing the cash-flow. When God decides to bless you, He will cause situations to come together in someone’s favour and no matter what others try to do … one business order of Rs 90 Lakhs with advance payment term and that too against PI became the turning point and the rest is history.
  • Mr Jayesh is planning to cross Rs 100 Crores business in next few years. Any move that reduces the impact of market volatility if the company plunges into other business to safeguard against the market cycles, the company has decided to invest the surplus money in nutraceutical manufacturing like CO2 extraction from all the natural floors.
  • The group is also working on distillery projects which produce Ethanol which is a replacement for petrol & diesel, and that will help India reduce the Import bills.
  • ** How MBA (Executive) helped in business expansion ? **
  • Marketing of company’s current products was the hurdle for Mr Jayesh, so he decided to go for the higher management study but where to do it from, was the question initially. SIMS instilled confidence in him and Mr Patil started his management education from Khadki campus, Pune.
  • He learnt various marketing strategies from Prof Ashok Kumar in subject “B2B Marketing” and other course “Security Analysis and Portfolio Management” taught by Prof Prasad Kalbhande. Also subjects like 'Finance', 'Legal Aspects of Business' taught by Prof Gopal Phadke and Prof Ramtirthkar respectively were very helpful in his professional journey.
  • SIMS, in the past, completed One Consultancy Project offered by Sarvandnya. Also conducted an MDP for their employees.
Congratulations Mr Jayesh Patil and good luck for his future growth of the venture.

  • *An Entrepreneurial Journey from a Far-flung Village to a Big City - A Business Success Story of Mr Waman Sanap, an MBA (Executive) 2021-23 Batch Student*
  • It has been observed that people move from small villages to big cities, time and again, to fulfill their dreams, with almost no resources but willingness and required talent in hand without thinking for a minute that their dreams are as small as their villages are said to be.
  • Born in Agarwadi, Washim district, Maharashtra, Mr Waman Sanap completed his engineering from SGGSCOE&T Nanded and went to Saudi Arabia to work with Honeywell before realising his own venture in 2008.With no thoughts in his mind that he needs better resources and a sustainable environment to make sure that he can share his dreams with the world, believing in one simple theory - everything is possible; if you have the will to accomplish it !
  • A professional having skills in process industry (PLC and DCS) started iPAC Automation Pvt Ltd with one laptop and the goodwill he earned over four years before his entrepreneurial journey.
  • As a provider of end-to-end engineering services to plant automation, iPAC Automation has its humble beginning as a small automation service firm providing automation services on Honeywell TPS platform. Since then the company has grown to today’s major service provider in this segment.
  • Company’s expertise on DCS/PLC/SCADA of multiple control platforms includes all major controllers including Honeywell, Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, and Emerson. The company also has in depth knowledge base on various peripheral areas including Field Instrumentation Detailing, designing, field engineering, SPI Intools, Fire & Gas alarming system, Access Control System, to name a few.
  • The company has signed agreements with Kuwait and UAE based companies, and now iPAC looks forward to a revenue of Rs 100 crores in next few years.
  • Only innate abilities, domain knowledge, and experience are not enough to run a business but the size and complexity of businesses today are demanding more and more professional skills and pure practical knowledge of the domain, and realizing this truth, Mr Waman has taken admission in MBA (Executive) offered by SIMS in order to learn management education in all of its essence to function effectively.
  • Effective management has become the soul of every business today. The individual growth of each enterprise depends on their ability to keep in touch with industrial advances and ensure that the right skilled workforce is available, continuous learning has become a must for this industry.
  • Mr Waman Sanap strongly believes in upgrading the skills of his current employees, so he has decided to nominate at least two employees every year to study MBA (Executive) program offered by Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS), Khadki Campus, Pune.
  • The energy he has, he earns it with his determination and courage. This success speaks of his hard work and resolve.
    Many congratulations and best wishes
  • Continuous Learning and Adopting Technology to Build a Strong Growth Strategy"
  • Growth is one of the key goals for every business leader, and no matter if you are the owner of a small local company or one of the leaders of a global brand, it’s probably safe to say that your strategies revolve around growing your business.
  • Mr Raman Agrawal, an MBA (Executive) alumnus of 2017-19 batch, started Brightex Synergizer India Pvt Ltd which is a Joint Venture between a Hong Kong based investment company www.brightex.net and the Indian entity Nikita Distributors which is a leader in Photography Goods distribution www.imaginext.co.in
  • This startup company, Brightex Synergizer India Pvt Ltd, is importer and National Distributors for 3 Global Brands (Garmin Brand Smart Watches, Saucony Brand Running Shoes, and Energizer Brand Consumer Batteries).
  • Mr Agrawal started this company in 2019. Initially, he started the business for Garmin on Regional Level. That time he did not have these 2 other brands, so the major focus was offline sales.
  • The company represents these brands as their extended arm. They just don’t sell the products but do import, distribution, marketing communication, and after sales service. In short, everything end-to-end for online and offline channels.
  • Initially, market entry barrier was the biggest challenge. Retailers were not in agreement to start business as their project was small. On other side, since the business was small, brand was also not supporting. So monthly sale was approx Rs 50,00,000/-.
  • Now this company is an exclusive distributor for all 3 Brands. Garmin Brand which was started in 2019 with monthly business of 50 Lakhs, now it’s doing a monthly business of RS 10 CRORES covering entire India for online and offline channels.
  • In next 5 years, Mr Agrawal wants to take the Sporting Goods business to RS 500 CRORES annual revenue and the FMCG business of energizer batteries to RS 100 CRORES, adding more complimentary products down the line.
  • How MBA (Executive) made a difference to his business
  • Management study helped him to expand his business exponentially. Mr Raman has been into sales and marketing for almost 17 years, but the first 15 years, it was more like a Street Smart kind of approach, where he saw what’s happening in the market and follow the best practices. So, it was more a Reactive Approach, but after Executive MBA, he got a more Structured Approach towards the business. He has built company’s own vision, communicated that vision to the relevant team, identified, and deployed the resources and finally connected marketing strategy with the external environment, so it’s more Pro-Active approach now.
  • Another key learning was management of Human Resource. Now he works very closely with the team, not just telling them what to do but focus is on how we can do things together and why they should work hard to get those things done. It helped him strengthen the relationship between employer and employee.
  • Group activities during his management study helped him learn to become a team player. In his entire career before management education, he worked in senior management, so he didn’t have much inclination to listen NO from any of his staff and that propelled the decision making very biased but in MBA (Executive), they all were students irrespective of age and experience, that helped him work with his employees making everyone responsible and accountable with greater transparency.
  • Mr Raman Agrawal who benefitted from MBA (Executive) is now looking forward to SIMS for customized short term MDPs for his over 100 employees. He considers his employees as an asset, so their continuous development is his prime objective in order to face the future challenges.
  • We wish Mr Raman best luck and may his technology driven business prosper in the years to come.

  • Exponential Business Growth Story of "Parksley Global" led by Mr Rohit Kawedia, an Alumnus of MBA (Executive), SIMS, Pune
  • The Indian pharmaceutical industry is made up of a lot of entrepreneurs who have helped India become a superpower in the global pharma market. The chemists and stockists are part of the backbone of the healthcare system.
  • I, a representative of SIMS, got a chance to interact with Mr Rohit Kawedia, a young entrepreneur and an alumnus of MBA (Executive) offered by Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS), Khadki Campus, Pune.
  • Mr Rohit’s family is well known in the Pharmaceutical trading business here in Pune. Although he saw this as an advantage, it worked against him as other small businesses started seeing him as a threat rather than giving him a job opportunity on his capabilities.
  • Eventually, he started his entrepreneurial journey in 2013 with one helper. The idea was to enhance lives globally by enabling access to a wide range of medicines at affordable prices, with Anti-cancer, Lifestyle drugs, Lifesaving drugs prices soaring high in the international market.
  • The first year of business was more about executing the idea and finding customers. Second year Mr Kawedia succeeded in getting a few orders, however due to some regulatory changes by the FDA, he had to abandon the business model overnight. That is when he realized the business model has to be more sustainable and dynamic. With some research on the same and some self-funding to support the idea in 2013, Parksley Global now has grown exponentially to 300 times in 8 years.
  • 60% of the total clients of Parksley Global’s are in Japan which shows that the company's value system, operational efficiency, and inventory management are trustworthy.
  • The company’s unmatched services include parallel trade which deals with the cross-border sale of pharmaceutical products, an extensive network to source named patient medicines on an urgent basis from all over the globe, sourcing the safest and effective generic medicines at the lowest prices, cold chain supply with the data logger throughout the shipment, and comparator sourcing with effective medicines at reasonable values.
  • He is on track to cross business worth $ 15 million by the end of financial year 2022 by adding two more segments to existing portfolio.
  • A humble and modest entrepreneur says his business is relatively small with a team of 18 members as most of the company’s repetitive jobs are outsourced.
  • Despite frequent changes in pharma regulations he has managed to overcome obstacles and grow stronger with each passing year. He didn’t forget to mention that the “Legal Aspects in Business” taught by Prof R R Ramatirthkar and “Operational Intricacies in the Business” taught by Prof Shreekant Phadke during his MBA (Executive) program helped him in overcoming all challenges.
  • His biggest take away is identifying needs of the customer and building a sustainable business model. If we believe in the work we do, stay there, not to give up. Every challenge motivates us and gives one an opportunity to grow.
  • This entrepreneurial journey of SIMS alumnus is a story of grit, hard work, and determination.
  • We wish him best luck and look forward to Parksley Global, a listed company soon.

  • Dear Wellwishers,
Greetings from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS), Pune !
  • Yesterday I met Mr Padmanabh Warade, CEO, Imperial Landmarks, who is an alumnus of MBA (Executive) 2008-10 batch to know his post Executive MBA journey.
  • He started his professional career as an Executive in ICICI Bank initially but his interest was in real estate, so whatever earnings he had, used it to buy small plots in Pune and Nashik regions.
  • Later Mr Warade left his banking job and joined Kolte Patil Group, a listed construction company in Pune, to know more about this sector in detail and develop expertise. Interestingly, the salary in the current company was half the size of what he was drawing in the bank but the intent was to learn.
  • This young and dynamic professional decided to start his own construction company but initial capital required to start the new venture was inadequate, so he first approached the well known builders with the offer that the sales and marketing of the newly constructed apartment be outsourced and that would be done by him on commission basis. This initiative helped him develop sales and marketing acumen and create a strong corporate network. He made good money out of this.
  • Finally, Mr Padmanabh decided to start the construction company in partnership with the other two in 2016. Now his company's asset worth is Rs 250 crores over the last few years.
  • The company has bought a two lakh square feet highway touch property near Chandani Chowk for commercial development.
  • The company's focus is on developing commercial spaces offering coworking affordable office space for those who are looking for an alternative to escape the isolation of a home office or coffee shop. These shared workspaces offer a suite of office-like amenities such as hot-desks, private meeting rooms, kitchens, coffee and more. Also his company is developing shopping malls to rent out to big retail companies.
  • His company's vision is to build a performance driven relationship & culture that continues to provide value added services to their customers.
  • He has given credit for his success to MBA (Executive) offered by Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS). Marketing, Project Management, and Financial aspects learnt during this program helped him in selecting the sites, debt-equity ratio, and reaching out to big investors and banks.
  • SIMS is proud of this shining alumnus and wishes him best luck in his future endeavors.
