The campus of SIMS, Pune was filled with enthusiasm and dedication to the nation on the special occasion of the 75th Republic Day. The grand celebrations took place from 8 to 9:30 AM in the open area in front of the central dome, organized jointly by the SIMS Branding Cell, SUR, and VIBES teams. The venue was transformed into a lively and festive atmosphere that embodied the spirit of the day.

The event was honoured by the presence of Director SIMS, Brig. (Dr.) Rajiv Divekar, Deputy Director, Dr. Pravin Kumar Bhoyar, Campus Administrator, Air Commodore Vishwajit Dedgaonkar VM VSM (Retd.), faculty, staff, and students from MBA batches 2024 and 2025. The program began with the ceremonial flag hoisting and singing of the national anthem, filling everyone with pride and unity.

The talented SUR and VIBES teams enthralled the audience with patriotic performances that stirred emotions and highlighted the essence of freedom and courage. Research assistant, Ms. Shrimoyee Mukherjee added to the patriotic fervour with a soulful musical tribute.

In his address, Director Sir emphasized the ideals enshrined in the constitution, including the rights and duties of citizens. He highlighted our responsibilities to ourselves, the institute, and the nation. He encouraged participation in co-curricular activities to help develop critical thinking and communication skills and instil a shared commitment to our democratic values. He effectively conveyed to the students how their time at SIMS is not just about acquiring academic knowledge. It is an opportunity to develop a holistic perspective, imbibe leadership qualities, and contribute meaningfully to society

Students were felicitated for excellence in academics, sports, and extracurriculars. The event culminated with refreshments bringing everyone together in the spirit of community.

Dr Satish D. Rajhance was selected as the INDIAN TEAM COACH of the National Federation Kick Boxing Wako India. He won the 3rd DAN BLACK BELT in karate from the INDIAN ASSOCIATION OF KICKBOXING ORGANIZATION. He won the 4th DAN BLACK BELT in Karate from DRAGON MASTER KARATE TRAINING SCHOOL KALYAN, MUMBAI

He is an official member of the United Martial Arts Association Inter-nation California USA and has completed the ADVANCED INTERNATIONAL TRAINING COURSE conducted by the 4th World Joint Instructors held in Cape Town, South Africa in October 2004

BRONZE MEDAL winner on 2nd INDOOR ASIAN GAMES -2007, held between 26th October 2007 and 3rd November 2007 at MACAU, CHINA in SEMI CONTACT KICKBOXING EVENT GOLD MEDAL winner of INDO-SRILANKA GOODWILL KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP held on October 1997 in Mumbai.
