| Pranay - Our Social Initiative |
 |
Passion, love and hard work combined can do magic! It can change lives and revolutionize civilizations.
“Pranay” (a social initiative by SIMS), a Sanskrit word synonymous with love, care and affection is a first of its kind social initiative to be launched by a B-school.
It works towards not just spreading joy and bringing smiles on the faces of under privileged but also believes in its potential to bring about a phenomenal change in the existing economy. PRANAY is not about sacrifice and selfless work but about loving yourself and your work so much that it touches the lives of the people around you. It’s about working towards the well being of the society in tune with your own dreams and wishes. It’s about rising above the existing evils like power and arrogance while keeping in touch with the pride and esteem experienced by doing good work.
Through our efforts at PRANAY, we help the less fortunate in realizing their true potential while truly comprehending the significance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Working with NGOs helps us to keep in touch with social realities and inspires us to make meaningful contributions to society; while simultaneously furnishing us with real time exposure for implementing and applying our theoretical knowledge in environments of adversity.
PRANAY works closely with NGO’s like Akanksha, Mobile-Crèche, Beauty without Cruelty (BWC), Queen’s Mary Training Institute (QMTI), CRY and MAHER. We’ve organized events like Medical Camps, Walkathons, Literary fests and blood donation camps to do our bit in past.Recently we have signed a MoU with PMC to make Business plans for slum dwellers. As a part of this collaboration, we have started working with an organization called PRAGATI that creates employment for women in slum areas.
PRANAY integrates elements of humanity, managerial skills, art and people. It isn’t a club or cell; it’s the soul of SIMS. It comprises of all student managers doing work that is a stark proof of the fact that they have the ability to heal the world and create better things in life.
“Pranay is not an NGO neither is it a cell and it most definitely isn’t a club. Pranay is in fact an incessant effort to reach out. Pranay is not a compulsion, it’s a choice you make - the choice to make a difference…” |
