Pranay, a name that imbibes the very essence of humanity, is India’s first B-school NGO support system and social initiative. Pranay is a SIMS initiative to aid those less fortunate to realize their true potential.
“PRANAY” works closely with NGOs like Akanksha, Mobile-Crèches, Beauty without Cruelty (BWC) and Queen’s Mary Training Institute (QMTI) to name a few.
Pranay volunteers for Akanksha go to various orphanages, where they impart basic knowledge to the less fortunate children. Volunteers for BWC, try and spread awareness about cruelty to animals through presentations to corporates. They involve students to undertake projects about animal rights. We have had awareness drives in schools in association with BWC.
We, at Pranay, have undertaken individual projects like cleanliness drives, tree-plantation and aids awareness camp. A blood donation camp was organized in association with Grant Medical Foundation at the SIMS campus. The camp saw donors turning up in large numbers from nearby corporate houses, students and locals.
Pranay organizes comprehensive medical camps every year in remote villages near Pune. This year the medical camp was held on 24th Febrauary 2008 at Kivle Village, near Chakan with surrounding villages also participating. The focal point was to carry out multi-speciality screening for ailments and educate the people about the possibilities of diseases and a healthier living. With medical representatives from Ruby Hall and Jehangir Hospital, and mobile screening equipment from Mumbai, with support of our donors the village folk were assured of the best treatment in the medical profession. |
