SIMS KEx- SIMS Knowledge Exchange
31/12/2009
Students at SIMS come from diverse backgrounds and all of them have unique expertise and knowledge of certain subjects. SIMS KEx is a student’s initiative designed to harness the great potential of such expertise and knowledge, and share it effectively within the student community at SIMS. Conceptualised by Abhishek Bali, SIMS KEx is today headed by an autonomous body of students, who have been instrumental in successfully implementing this idea.
How does SIMS KEx works?
1. Let's say a student manager has worked in or has substantial knowledge about The Stock Market or Hindustani Classical Music or Cloud Computing or India's Naxal Problem or has won a competition.
2. He/She makes a 20 min presentation and sends out an open invitation to both batches. Anyone who is interested in the topic can come and sit through the presentation held one one of the weekdays after classes.
3. He/She then gives the presentation to a voluntary audience, in an informal setting and subsequently uploads the content on youtube or the SIMS KEx blog.
A few topics which have been presented at SIMS KEx are Photography, Photo editing, Stocks, Hedge funds, Photomanipulation, Carbon Credits, Cannes advertisements and Viral Marketing.
