| Education at SIMS is offered primarily for dependants of Army, Navy and Air Force personnel including ex-servicemen, officers on study leave and industry sponsored candidates, who can demonstrate a responsible and motivated approach to management education. Admissions to the full time courses at SIMS conform to the Memorandum of Understanding between Symbiosis Society and the Ministry of Defence, Govt of India dated 10th July 2000 and the regulations of Symbiosis International University. |

Defence Open Category
80% vacancies available for the full time courses offered by SIMS shall be allotted to dependents of defence personnel on the basis of their performance in the entrance process on merit. |

Defence Special Reservation Category
10% vacancies available for the full time courses shall be allotted by SIMS management in consultation with HQ Southern Command for dependents of Defence Personnel affected as under:

Killed in action (War, Counter- Insurgency or War-like operations) |

Next of kin of service personnel who have died/been disabled while in service and are awarded Special / Liberalised Family Pension. (Admission is conditional to candidate meeting the laid down eligibility criteria and is subject to merit in the selection process.) |

Industry Sponsored Category
10% vacancies available for the fulltime courses are for Industry sponsored candidates in open category. This category is open to those students who are sponsored by industry for full time programmes. (Admission is conditional to candidate meeting the laid down eligibility requirements and is subject to merit in selection process like other candidates.) |
